Freezer Paper Stencils

Freezer paper stencils... where have you been all my life?? Today I whipped up this BEAUTIFUL tote. One yard of unbleached cotton ($2.50) and blue fabric paint ($1.49) and an hour of my time and I had ABSOLUTE PERFECTION! This is, in my humble opinion, the most beautiful bag that will ever grace the grocery store [yes, it will leave the door handle, Nate] with its presence. Easy directions from Amy here.

Anyone want to guess what a pain it was to cut out all those little branch details? And this was my first ever. EVER! Husband also got in on the crafty fun. He's always said that it would be interesting to screen print his own t-shirts. Here's the t that he made yesterday. He's a picky guy, so I know the bumpy edges might drive him crazy. Good thing he used white ink; nothing a black Sharpie can't fix!

Both of these designs are from Stencilry.org. Mom and I have been having an ongoing discussion about homemade grocery totes, and when I told her about these she specially requested one with a tomato slice on it. Such a great idea! Stay tuned for at least two more of these beauties this week.
